Seoyeon Jang x Emmy Awards: Look Breakdown

For her Emmy debut, “Beef” Season 2 star Seoyeon Jang wore Fendi and embraced a romantic evening look. Anh Co Tran styled her hair in a loose, textured updo with soft face-framing pieces and a delicate ribbon detail. Read more to see how he created her look for the awards ceremony.

The Foundation

Beginning on dry hair, Anh applied three palmfuls of Milbon& Monochromatic Froth Blowout Foam throughout. He then established a slightly off-center part and rough dried the hair.

Next, Anh gathered the hair into a mid-height ponytail that sat neither too low nor too high. He left out pieces around the face to create soft, romantic framing.

the Updo

Anh added three to four more palmfuls of Froth Blowout Foam through the ponytail, followed by half a pump of Smooth Luminous Bodifying Oil through the ends.

He then applied Matte Texturizing Paste 8 throughout the ponytail before wrapping, twisting, and pinning the hair into place. To keep the style polished, he applied more of the paste to smooth down any flyaways and seal the shape.

the Ribbon

For a touch of detail, Anh added a ribbon to the back of the updo. Instead of tying it traditionally, he positioned the ribbon upside down so the bow would hang beneath the loose bun rather than sit on top. It was an elegant finishing touch to the overall style.

the Face Frame

Anh finished the front pieces with soft waves to enhance their texture and movement around Seoyeon’s face. He then misted Flex Memory Hairspray 7 throughout the hair to seal the style.

Since the Emmys took place on a particularly warm day, Anh made sure to finish with Milbon’s Firm Hold Shielding Hairspray 10 to keep every detail in place and protect her hairstyle from the elements.

The Final Look

Loose updos were everywhere on the Emmys red carpet this year, and Seoyeon’s romantic look fit right in. Her combination of soft face-framing waves, textured volume, and delicate ribbon detail created a romantic finish that complemented her Fendi gown.
