Rei Ami x Dior: NYFW Look Breakdown
Rei Ami stepped out for Dior at New York Fashion Week with a look straight out of the 1950s. Anh Co Tran styled her hair with a modern spin on 1950s glamour, featuring a voluminous ponytail, flipped-out ends, and a deep side-swept bang.

The Foundation
Beginning on damp hair, Anh applied four palmfuls of Monochromatic Froth Blowout Foam all over to prime her hair before rough drying. Next, he sectioned out her front bangs, leaving them aside to style later in the process.
The Ponytail
Next, Anh pulled the hair back into a high ponytail positioned on the crown and secured it with a rubber band. He then applied one pump of Smooth Luminous Bodifying Oil through the ends.
Anh wanted Rei’s ponytail to look full and voluminous, spilling over the sides and back. To achieve this vision, he wrapped a ponytail extension over her natural hair to add fullness and exaggerate the shape.
To build more body and hold, Anh added two more palmfuls of Froth Blowout Foam through the ponytail and rough dried it again. He then created a bend in the hair and flipped the ends outward, creating the signature 1950s-inspired movement.
Texture & Hold
Once the shape was established, Anh sprayed Weightless Dry Texture Spray 4 from roots through ends to build texture and provide additional hold. He followed with Flex Memory Hairspray 7 to set the ponytail.
The Bangs
Returning to the front section, Anh directed her bangs to the side with a quick blow-dry. This created a deep side part that swept across and tucked behind the left ear for a classic 1950s effect.
He applied another palmful of Froth Blowout Foam to the bangs and blow-dried them with lift. He misted another layer of Weightless Dry Texture Spray 4 for texture and locked the shape in place with Flex Memory Hairspray 7.
The Finishing Touch
Anh finished her style with a final spray of Milbon’s Firm Hold Shielding Hairspray 10 all over to seal the look.
The final result was a direct nod to the era. Rei’s exaggerated volume, flipped-out ends, and side-swept bangs created a classic yet modern take on 1950s glamour.
