Recap of the 2023 DA-Taiwan Next Event

The DA Event was created to challenge and support hair designers worldwide, while also encouraging them to always continue learning to reach their full potential. Milbon’s “Design Abilities” or “DA” is a platform for stylists to unleash their creativity, and prepare them for their journey to improve and evolve their “Design Abilities.” As the Global Creative Director, Anh had the honor to participate as a judge in 2022 and again recently in Korea and Taiwan!

At this year’s Taiwan DA-NEXT event Anh was asked to be a judge for the short cut category. Judges were asked to evaluate the designers based on their ability to cohesively display and preform their skills encompassing their personal identity and branding in a forward fashion-focused way. This gave the stylists participating a platform to dream and inspire not only for their future but for the next generation platform to dream and inspire, not only for their future, but for the next generation of aspiring hairstylists. Each participant submitted some of their online work examples from social media then had to interpret their signature looks on a live model at their gallery station during the event, incorporating completed looks in hair, makeup and fashion. The goal was to have a seamless transition between their work displayed digitally and their ability to execute it in the salon.
